A Christian is someone who believes in Jesus as the Son of God, who was sent by God as the Messiah to die for our sins and thus reconcile us with God and give us eternal life.
If we believe in Christ in this way, it is because we believe the way in which it was written in the Bible, because that was the way the Old Testament prophesied long before the coming of Christ, and this also was the way testified in the New Testament about the life of Christ and the Gospel.
As the Bible is exactly composed by both the Old and New Testament, it only makes sense to believe in Jesus in the way that it was prophesied and then witnessed by the people who were with him.
Also it only makes sense to believe in the Gospel as it was preached in the New Testament Gospels and by letters of the Apostles.
However, over the years, many doctrines were being incorporated within the churches. And also, many aspects of other religions, philosophies and beliefs were getting into the life of some Christians.
Then, some people who wanted to believe in Christ and being true Christians, began to mix doctrines of other religions or to associate with organizations that seemed not to interfere with the biblical doctrine, but deep down, they had contradictions that could deny even fundamental principles of the biblical Gospel.
That's exactly why the website "JesusInTheBible" exists. The idea is to write for people who want to be Christian, but are surrounded by proposals and questions regarding doctrinal issues, which may be conflicting with the Bible.
The texts of the books and articles of this website try to "report" that those subtleties (contrary to what is written in the Bible) are been preached and incorporated in the lives of many Christians, but who really could not be a part of the life of a Christian.
These texts bring a brief explanation about the different points of each doctrine/idea/philosophy contrary to the Bible and then is shown the biblical texts that prove these divergences.
The other religions and philosophies are not widely discussed, because, for a Christian, it is important to have a great knowledge of the word of God (Bible) and not of other religions. In General, it is said that to criticize, you need to know. But, what is done in the books/articles of this website is to know the main points of other religions (usually from official sources of them) and compare it with the Bible. If the key points are already different from the Word, there is no need to go deep in them. Then, is just needed to write a book listing those points which strongly contradict the Bible, and that should be enough for a Christian to understand that he cannot associate with those doctrines.
The main purpose of this website is to alert/teach/correct/direct people who believe in Christ and want to be Christians in accordance with what was prophesied and witnessed in the Bible.
The goal is not to discriminate other religions/philosophies/thoughts, not even to arise polemics or create an ideological war against other religions.
Then, what is done here is to show how some doctrinal lines and some religions have been preaching things discordant to the Bible, but claiming to be Christian institutions, who say they believe in Jesus Christ and that they even read the Bible in their meetings.
It makes no sense a Christian feel like seeking new doctrines that go beyond the Gospel of Christ himself, written in the Bible. Then, the books of this website are intended for people who believe in Christ and want to believe in the way that it is written in the Bible, but feel confused about the many variations of doctrines preached today.
Please, don't feel discriminated or distressed by the content of this website. If something bothered you, I apologize, and I would like to say that I'm just trying to alert about some teachings that are against what is preached in the Bible.
My appeal is that everyone observe, with goodwill, what the Bible has to show us and analyze in your hearts what it means to be a Christian according to the Bible.
